DOWN BY THE BRANDYWINE: Bingo Bolger-Baggins
Today has been a good day, really. I think once I got Elanor back here, alive and safe yesterday, everything started feeling more manageable again. One important corner of my world, secure and in reach again, I suppose. And watching Lil B and Chomsky, along with Merin and Peony, hardly gives me a moment to think, which is the best thing for now.

Poor Lil Bilbo. We had quite a talk this morning about dealing with transitory relationships--out of the mouth of a babe and straight to my heart. We don't really change much in our heart of hearts no matter how many years we've seen, do we?

And now I have Merry Brandybuck and Pip Took to thank for this lovely afternoon picnic down by the Brandywine. I don't know them that well--my playmates when I was a lad were Marmaduke Brandybuck, Frodo Took, and Odo Bolger-Took. Merry and Pip were the younger lads Frodo played with. Such a big difference in age it seemed back then too; now it all seems so silly. I haven't been around such a pack of little hobbitlings as we've got here in quite a while. While they seem to be well occupied, I think I'll get out of some of these things and take a nice dip. Cool water, blue sky, good company--all much needed.
