A Hobbit in Love: Bingo Bolger-Baggins
See that garden shed on the hill-side behind Bag-End? In the back of that garden shed leading into the hill is my Pantry Smial, a modest dwelling, to be sure, and yet I think it is the most lovely place in all of Arda, for my love and I dwell there.
At least we did all this weekend.
And I hope for more than I can count. But if ever we must leave it to dwell somewhere else, then I'm sure that place will hold as much beauty as this, be it under a rock in Dagorlad.
But for a while today, 'Do has some thing to tend to and I want to go see my lovely, brave Elanorelle--there is so much to tell her! And I want to help her build the shrine to the Valar
who came at her call, because that call was all for my sake, and she risked much to rescue me from the clutches of Morgoth the Great Enemy.
It all seems so unreal to me now. And I must go see dear valiant Erchi who suffered most grievously
of all in the attempt to free me. And I should stop in and see Samwise, because he seems to be in legal travail,
and I might be able to recommend to him a lawyer friend of mine.
You know what is so wonderful about away time from someone
you want to be with? It's the only way you get that delicious feeling when your steps are leading you homeward.
